Nigel Roberts has worked in youth work and education for 38 years. He led several local centres for Youth for Christ before joining head office as Education Advisor. Nigel tutors students at the Institute for Children, Youth, and Mission, where he has created and contributed to many of the CYM chaplaincy courses and developed working standards for Chaplains with children and young people and is author of the 'The Good Chaplain, a theology of chaplaincy based on the ministry of Jesus' . Nigel is a qualified drama teacher and was a community chaplain in a secondary school for 17 years. Nigel also works for the Saltley Trust, developing chaplaincy initiatives in Further Education across the West Midlands.
The School Chaplaincy Gathering is an opportunity to hear inspiring stories of how churches are connecting with schools to enable children and young people to flourish and explore faith. There will be an opportunity to hear about the latest research and resources and chat to others who are working in schools. The event is being hosted by the Diocese of Norwich Children, Youth and Families Team and Integrate Youth for Christ as part of their Team Chaplaincy Project.
The St Benet’s Team Chaplaincy Project has been developing a school chaplaincy team across multiple schools in the St Benet’s Multi Academy Trust . The project has been part funded by the Church of England Growing Faith Foundation and the Diocese of Norwich. The project is run by Integrate Youth for Christ who have been running youth activities and supporting churches across South Norfolk for over 15 years.

Future Dates for School Chaplaincy Gatherings are: Thursday 11th June, venue tbc. Please note the change of day for the June gathering from a Friday to a Thursday, after feedback that some are unable to attend Mondays or Fridays.
