The vision of the Accompanying Project is to see children and young people being all they can be.
The project is a targeted programme working in partnership with primary schools. It’s mission is to support vulnerable children to make the best possible transition to secondary school.
The aim is to build positive and meaningful relationships with children and young people that make a positive difference in the life of the child now and for their future.
We work with schools
The Accompanying Project was set up following a pilot project in primary schools. We work closely with school SENCOs so that the pupils who most need this support, get the help to make the move to secondary school.
The project uses mentoring
The project uses mentoring, group work, positive activities and transition support to deliver on its desired outcomes of building self-confidence, social skills and resilience to change, raising aspirations and realising greater equality of opportunity.
