Chaplaincy project RE workshops tour
As part of our chaplaincy project, we have had 4Front Theatre Company work with eight local primary phase schools to deliver a performance followed by a drama workshop on the topic of 'Brave'. Read more about the amazing time we had!
Funded mostly by local churches and individual supporters, this RE tour has been extremely well received by pupils and staff alike. The children loved meeting 'Ian the donkey' and learning how we can be inspired by the different stories in the Bible to be brave, even when we don't feel brave, when God is with us. 4Front theatre then ran workshops for the different year groups, often joined by members of the chaplaincy teams, where they played drama games and then worked together in groups to portray the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in three scenes, bravely performing these to the rest of their workshop group. This was a great way to build our relationships with schools within the St Benet's Multi-Academy Trust and build the connection between local churches and schools, whilst also supporting the spiritual development of pupils within schools.
