Mission Weeks

Integrate YFC regularly invite different Christian teams to visit high schools in the area.

Mission WeekIn 2013, Integrate Youth For Christ invited a national touring band and a street dance crew to work with young people in high schools and youth groups across South Norfolk and North Suffolk in a Mission week. The week concluded with a public performance by both groups at Diss High School.Previously, Integrate has invited football teams, drama teams, media teams and contemporary dance teams to visit our local high schools.

Taste Touring Band The band ‘Taste’, from Essex-based charity Viz-A-Viz Ministries, travel across the country playing in schools and helping young people understand what it means to be a Christian.
Andy, guitarist and song writer for the band says:

“We find that so many young people these days see Christianity as outdated and irrelevant, it’s our aim to change that view and encourage people to check out what it means to be a Christian!”

Singer Naomi says: “Many young people that we meet seem to be looking for real acceptance and will turn to all kinds of things in search of love. The thing is that the drugs and relationships they try, will often let them down and sometimes destroy lives. We believe that God’s love will never do that, but will provide the security and love they are looking for and so that’s why we want people to have a Taste of what it really means to be a Christian.”

Stance Street Dance Crew Stance are a high energy, touring Street Dance Crew, from the national charity Youth For Christ. They use dance to connect with young people in a dynamic way in a whole host of settings, working excellently as a gateway with young people to share the gospel. Stance are passionate about inspiring and encouraging young people to use their skills and talents. They will be running range of workshops and performances in schools and youth groups during the week, using unique and innovative styles of street dance and hip hop to create a buzz amongst the young people and bring young people together from different backgrounds.

In 2015, we are excited that Taste will again be visiting the area, this time for a whole week at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston.

Teams have previously worked in a range of schools and youth groups across the area, including Archbishop Sancroft (Harleston), Diss, Old Buckenham and Hartismere (Eye) High Schools, Banham Youth Cafe and Diss Youth Cafe – in St Mary’s Church in Diss. If you would like to find out more about visiting teams, please contact Steph at the Integrate YFC office.

Integrate YFC Centre Director Steph says:

“We are very excited for the opportunity to bring these teams to our schools and youth groups and for the opportunity to engage young people in exploring aspects of faith in culturally relevant ways. We are encouraged that local churches are working together to help us by acting as hosts for the teams and supporting us in other ways.”
